Already in their first year of existence 2002, Ketsurat won a nation-wide contest for vocal groups organized by the Klemetti-institute. A pinnacle of recognition thus far was reached two years later when Ketsurat claimed the world championship title in Kalevala-style poem singing in Tallinn, Estonia. Ketsurat first recording Pari šanua came out in 2005 and the second album Ilokielet ennällähän in 2011. Ketsurat organizes individual concerts and have performed at an array of events, both cross-genre and pure folk festivals in Finland and the other countries. As much as the calendar allows, Ketsurat gladly shows up to entertain also at private parties. Through professional expertise is pedagogy and music found in the group, Ketsurat has also been able to organize workshops around the folk music theme, either separately or in connection with their performances.
